FUCK NO!!!
Seriously, to the American game companies who are saying this, STFU before you crash the gaming industry again!!! I've been reading this bullshit idea from an American game company to make the endings of games downloadable in order to reduce the resale and rental of games and my first thoughts were “We got to hang this guy before it spreads around”.
Here in North America, we've enjoyed the privilege of being able to rent video games ever since I can remember. In Japan however, this has always been outlawed as far as I know. Why? Not sure, but my theory is that video games were big when the Famicom was released back in 1983. Nintendo totally owned the market in Japan and with the help of their lawyers, managed to make game renting illegal. I'm kind of sure about this theory because this is how a bunch of gaming companies managed to make the used video game market illegal for a 2~3 years period. During the time of the Dreamcast, SEGA and about 5 other companies gang up with their lawyers and managed to convinced a judge that selling used games was some sort of copyright infringement (look at the back of you Japanese DC imports' cases, you should see “No Resale”). That law was removed within a few years when it was made clear that it was contradicting a similar law that we have in NA where you are free to resale what you have legally purchased.
The tards in the North American gaming industry that want to make make game resale illegal have to be the biggest hypocrites in the world because I'm 100% sure that they've purchased something used in their lifetime (car, couch, TV, etc...) in order to save a few bucks. So to them and all the brainless gamer agreeing with them, let me ask you, how do you justify buying used furnitures and electronics, but not games? Why, because companies put a lot of efforts making these games? Well news flash dumbasses, Samsung isn't exactly making TVs by taking a shit and La-Z-Boy isn't making recliners by scratching their balls.
Every product needs conception, development/assembling and then needs to be sold at retailers. No company in the world likes it when you buy one of their products used, obviously, but there's nothing they can do about it because there are LAWS in our societies that prevents them to do so. If it wasn't for these laws, they could do worst things like preventing you from using their products after a certain period of time or after a certain amount of usage like some software companies are doing with downloadable programs (there's no law that protects consumers from companies removing usage of virtual objects yet).
Anyway, enough swearing for this week, I just wanted to get this off my chest

Ha! Great post!
Very entertaining but with a great point. I agree totally, games companies need to ensure they don't bite the hand that feeds.
Have a look at my blog and let me know what you think. (Leave me a comment)
